What to expect

Individual Therapy

We will meet on a weekly basis. During these sessions we will work together to overcome the difficulties you are facing. We will agree the number of sessions, and this can be revised during therapy.

First session

We can arrange an initial session at comfortable and accessible therapy rooms in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

At the first session I will invite you into the therapy room. Each session will last approximately 50 minutes and will be an opportunity to explore difficulties you are facing. I will guide your through this assessment process and do my best to put you at ease.

At the end of the assessment you can decide whether you would like to continue work.

We can flexibly use a number of approaches depending on goals, needs and our understanding of how your difficulties have arisen and are maintained. These approaches include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassionate Mind and Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT).

What happens next?

If you decide to embark on further sessions, these will

  • Each last 50 minutes
  • Usually happen weekly
  • May be at the same time each week or varied to suit your needs
