EMDR Intensive Programme

EMDR Intensives

If you’re feeling stuck or overwhelmed then an EMDR intensive might be the breakthrough you have been waiting for. It gives you the space and focused support to address a difficulty that has been holding you back.

This might be your first experience of therapy and you want to work on a problem in a concentrated, sustained way over the course of a week. Or you might already be seeing a therapist but feel stuck and want a burst of EMDR to move you forward.

You will be working one-to-one with Dr Alice Kennedy, a Clinical Psychologist and EMDR Accredited Practitioner. She will support you throughout the whole process, working to help you feel understood and safe.

Contact Clear Sky Psychology today to book in for a free 15-minute consultation to discuss an EMDR intensive programme.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy for resolving trauma and other difficulties such as low self esteem, anxiety and phobias.

What are the advantages of EMDR Intensives?

EMDR intensives are a great way of addressing a difficulties in a short space of time, with research showing intensives are at least as effective as traditional weekly sessions. It enables rapid process so that you can start feeling better.

Over the course of a week, you can address memories that affect your, start to heal and alleviate symptoms more quickly. It is also an efficient way of working as the time is focussed addressing your difficulties rather than checking-in since last session and opening and closing the work.

An EMDR Intensive might suit you if:

  • You have a specific problem you want to work on
  • You want to move past your problems in a short space of time
  • The accessibility of working online suits your life
  • Your life doesn’t fit with a traditional model of weekly therapy sessions.
  • You have a chunk of time to use for therapy, perhaps from annual leave or as downtime in a shift-working pattern or time when your children are occupied.
  • You have a deadline. For instance, you want to resolve a fear of flying before a holiday, want to feel confident before a presentation or work event or want to resolve an issue before a significant life event.
